Seven Sins

Seven are the locks that keep me at bay
Seven the doors to travel through
Seven acts of beautiful decay
Seven sins that welcome you:

Lovely longing for a lover's lips
United passions of undying heat
Seeking solace in each other's hips
Thy name is lust I'm pleased to admit.

Princes, poets and fools
Ravish rapidly of their actions
Ignorant of the caused reactions
Dreadful truth, that far and wide
Everywhere there's men, there will be pride.

Wicked waning of one's self-measure
Rotten fit of fiery pleasure
Angels shun this shameful act
(Though once it was their fathers path
Holy force was, the lord's wrath)

Sleeping soundly till the sun sets once again
Lazily wasting time with inaction
Offering nothing of value to naive men
Thou, oh inferno's valued attraction
Henceforth shall be known as sloth
-Amen

Every soul knows thee
No man resists you, not even me
Vessel for the jealous
You feed on them, Envy

Although angels shun you day and night
Vouching for thy vacuity,
Amidst men you've shown your might
Rising thieves to fame with glee
Impressive amongst men you have become
Charming muse you seem to some
Enter, greed, my heart is thy home

Guardian of the exquisite foods
Lover of the sweetest treats
Under thy sacred goods
Too many their finales meet
Taking in their measure no heed
Only eating for sake of greed
Naught shall live past thy most meaty grin
You, voracius, big, fat sin
